From New South Wales to Tasmania...
In October 2015, Jennifer made one of the biggest decisions of her life. After living in the one place in New South Wales since birth, she decided it was time for a tree change and made the exciting yet terrifying choice to say goodbye to everything she knew.
Whilst it's had its ups and downs, she hasn't regretted her decision and wouldn't be who she is today if she hadn't.
The island state of Tasmania has provided plenty of scope for the imagination, from its colourful history to its pristine wilderness. It's served as the backdrop for many of her novels, including The Beaumont Egalitarian Society and The Kitsune’s Lullaby. It will also form the setting for a new convict novel, based on her recent explorations of Port Arthur.
Perhaps an even better thing about Tasmania is the ability to cater to her love of unique animals. Here, Jennifer has managed to make friends with plenty of Aussie critters, including pademelons, kangaroos, wombats, echidnas, currawongs, and, of course, her family of quolls.
One day, Jennifer hopes to return to the mainland (NSW) for exciting new opportunities, but as she's discovered, life is certainly unpredictable...

No matter what season, Tasmania truly is a magical place.
